THE WISDOM OF THE MADMAN GALLERY
THE DIALOGUE
In the town of the man called
Madman, we find him in front of an open grave. He was having a
dialogue with a white skeleton as white as ivory. And somebody
trying to make fun of him asked: " What are you doing? What are
you both talking about?" "And what does he say, what does he teach you?" "We learn from each other" "Ha, ha, ha. Tell me I want to participate" "Then, put attention. These white washed bones tell me many things, today, by example, they told me: " I wish that I could have eyes again to be able to see everything that I missed in life. I would like to have tears to cry of sadness and happiness. How
many things I missed to see, there were many! I wish I could have
lips, mouth, to speak, to say, to kiss, I didn't speak enough, I
didn't kiss enough. And now my mouth is neither sweet not bitter,
not salty; my mouth is nothing, but a hurtful smile of a face that
is no longer a face. I wish I could have skin to feel, to perceive
the ground, the raindrops! I lost everything, I had everything but I didn't appreciate it. I
wish that I could have today even a little bit of what others
despise, a moment of life that now can't be." And the voice said: " But what have you learned?" And the man called Madman said: "I have learned from death, the great value, the extraordinary value of that simple thing and wonderful thing at the same time, called: "Living" |
